The Common Room is a collection of free browser games. There are no accounts, no passwords, and nothing to sign up for. This page explains the small amount of information the site does store, and why.

What's stored on our servers

• An anonymous ID. When you open the site, our database provider (Google Firebase) gives your browser a random anonymous ID. It isn't linked to your name, email, or any account, and it lets the games keep strangers out of rooms they aren't in.
• Multiplayer rooms. When you play online, the room stores what the game needs: the display name you type, your moves, and scores. Anyone in the same room can see your display name, so please don't use your real full name.
• Thumbs-up counts and landmark scores. These are stored only as totals, not tied to you.
• Feedback. If you send feedback, we store your message, the game you had open, and your browser type so we can reproduce bugs. Please don't put personal information in it.

What's stored only in your browser

Your favorites, which games you've given a thumbs-up, your display name, sound settings, and single-player progress are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Services we use

• Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver pages and may keep short-lived logs for security. If site analytics are turned on, they're Cloudflare's cookie-free analytics, which count visits without tracking you across sites.
• Google Firebase stores the anonymous ID and game data described above.
• Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces.

We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads today. If ads are added later, this page will be updated first to say who serves them and what they collect.

Kids

The Common Room is meant for a general audience and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
